The short version: this site doesn’t track you, and what you dictate with Piku never leaves your Mac. The longer version follows.
Last updated: July 2026 · Piku is pre-launch; this policy will be finalized before release.
Who is responsible
The controller for data processing on this website is the site operator named in the imprint.
This website
piku.studio is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking scripts, and loads no third-party fonts or embeds — everything is served from this domain.
When you visit, our hosting provider processes the technical minimum needed to deliver the page and keep it secure (such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of access) in server logs. Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are not used to identify you and are deleted on the provider’s regular schedule.
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you enter — nothing else — and use it for one purpose: telling you about Piku’s availability and launch. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
The waitlist is handled by Kit (Kit.com, Inc., United States), which stores your address on our behalf and sends the launch email. Data may therefore be processed in the US; Kit is our processor under a data-processing agreement. See kit.com/privacy.
You can withdraw your consent at any time — every email includes an unsubscribe link, and we’ll delete your address when you do. Once the launch notifications are done we delete the list anyway. Your address is never sold, or used for anything beyond Piku news.
The Piku app
Piku is built so that your content stays yours. Your voice is recorded and transcribed entirely on your Mac, and the recording is discarded the moment it becomes text. What you dictate — audio or text — never leaves your device. There is no account, and no cloud processing of your speech.
The app may contact our servers for technical housekeeping, such as checking for updates or downloading speech models. If we ever collect diagnostics to improve Piku, it will be anonymous technical data only — things like crash reports or feature usage — and never the content of your dictations, never anything that identifies you personally.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For anything related to your data, contact the site operator named in the imprint.
